Introduction to Dali's Famous Tourist Attractions

1. Dali Ancient City
The ancient city of Dali is called Yucheng for short, and it is located at the foot of the beautiful Zhi Cang Mountain, 13 kilometers away from Xiaguan of Dali City. Dali Ancient City was built in the fifteen years of Ming Hongwu (1382) and is one of the first historical and cultural cities in the country.
The ancient city of Dali faces the Erhai Lake in the east and Cangshan Mountain in the west. The tower is majestic and the scenery is beautiful. The scale of Dali City is magnificent, with a 12-square-square wall, the original city wall is 7.5 meters high and 6 meters thick. There are four original gates on the east, west, south, and north sides, and there are towers on it. If it is said that Shimonoseki, the capital of the autonomous prefecture, gives people a prosperous and noisy impression, then the ancient city of Dali is quaint and quiet.
There is a street running through the north and south. There are various shops specializing in marble products, tie-dyeing, straw weaving and other special products, and full-fledged Bai restaurants.
There are clear streams flowing in the city, and simple and elegant traditional Bai people's dwellings can be seen everywhere. The residents, no matter rich or poor, have the habit of growing flowers and grass in the courtyard. There is also a saying in Dali Old Town that "water flows from every household, and every family grows flowers."
The ancient city of Dali is very close to Xiaguan and can be reached by bus in more than ten minutes. There are buses to all bus stations and major hotels in the city. You can also go by Shimonoseki in a small carriage, but be sure to negotiate the price before boarding.
Traveling to the ancient city of Dali. If you want to stay overnight, there are many hotels in the city built according to the traditional houses of Bai people to choose from, and the price is not expensive.
2. Cangshan Range Rover
Cangshan is also known as Cangshan. It is the main peak at the southern end of the Yunling Mountains. It faces the Erhai Lake in the east and Heihui River in the west. There are 19 peaks in Xiongzhi Saga. The elevation is generally above 3500 meters, and the highest is 4122 meters. Snow accumulation is called "Yantian Chiri Snow is not tolerated".
The most wonderful thing is that there is a stream between every two peaks, which flows from the top down and flows into the Erhai Lake. These 19 peaks and 18 streams constitute a unique and colorful landscape of Cangshan Mountain.
Many landscapes full of Bai cultural characteristics are located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, such as the famous three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, Buddha Pagoda, Wuwei Temple, Taoxi Zhonghe Temple, Jiulong Nuchi, Qingbi Temple Santan, Gantong Temple, etc. Among the four famous sceneries of Dali's famous "Phoenix Snow Moon", "Snow" refers to the snow scene on Cangshan Mountain.
Go to Cangshan, and there are special coaches in front of the bus stations and major hotels in Shimonoseki city area.
3. Scenery of Erhai Lake
Erhai Lake is a famous plateau lake in Yunnan Province, with an altitude of 1972 meters, starting from Jiangwei Township in Eryuan County in the north and ending in Xiaguan in Dali City in the south, with an area of 248 square kilometers. Looking down from the air, the Erhai Lake is like a new moon, lying quietly between Cangshan and Dali Dam.
The Erhai Lake has 3 tracks, 4 continents, 5 lakes, and 9 song. Due to less pollution, the lake water is clear and the transparency is high. Since ancient times, it has been called "the flawless beautiful jade among the mountains".
When you arrive at Erhai Lake, you should visit the Bai fishing village nearby, because fishing villages on the plateau are rare, and the famous movie "Five Golden Flowers" in the 1950s reflects life here.
Xiaguan's Erhai Park is built for tourists to see the Erhai Lake. From anywhere in the city, it can be reached by taxi for only 5 yuan. If you are interested, you can also take a boat trip from here to Erhai Lake, both in wooden boats and speedboats. Don't forget to negotiate the price before boarding the boat.
4. Four Sceneries of Dali-Fenghuaxueyue
Dali is picturesque throughout the year, and among the many scenic spots, the four sceneries of wind, flowers, snow and moon are the most famous and fascinating.
About the four scenes of wind, flowers, snow and moon, for thousands of years, a riddle poem has been handed down from generation to generation in the local Bai people, making Dali young and old familiar with the four sceneries of wind, flowers, snow and moon.
   Poetry said:
Insects enter the bird's nest without seeing birds (wind),
  Seven green grasses (flowers) on the heads of seven people;
on the Hengshan under the light rain (snow),
Half a friend is gone (month).
In January 1962, after traveling through Dali, the famous writer Cao Jinghua was very impressed by the four sceneries of wind, flowers, snow, and moon in Dali, and left a poem about wind, flower, snow and moon:
   "Xiaguan wind, Shangguan flower, Xiaguan wind blowing up Guanhua;
Cangshan snow, Erhai moon, Erhai moon shines on Cangshan snow. "
Poetry has a new concept, and the battles are neat, and the four sceneries of Fenghuaxueyue and their connections are pointed out.

Yuannan

First I should say, “welcome” to Yunnan, It’s my honor to your guide.

"Yunnan"this word refers to “the South of Clouds”, it sounds beautiful and it is really a beautiful place. Let me tell you something about this wonderful land.

Yunnan, located in the Southwest China, has a vast territory, magnificent mountains and rivers, and abundant natural resources. With an area of 390,000 square kilometers, Yunnan is the eighth largest province in China. It is an inland province, with Guizhou Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the east, Tibet Autonomous Region in the northwest, and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in the southwest. Outside China, Yunnan borders on Burma in the west; Vietnam and Laos in the south. With a long borderline, is the main passageway connecting China with the Southeast Asian nations.

In Yunnan, there are more than 6000 rivers which belongs to 6 river-system :the 金沙 River system, the 南盘 River system, the 源 River system, the 澜沧 River system, the 怒 River system and the 伊洛瓦底 River system. And such complex river systems cannot be found in other provinces. Not only can many rivers be found in Yunnan , but also 37 lakes with an area of over 1square kilometers can be seem here, boasting a large number of plateau lakes. For example, the Dianchi Lake was called the bright pearl of Plateau. Later we can enjoy the beautiful view. There are 700 hot springs as well, all of which attract lots of friends all over the world.

According to our Chinese culture, a perfect place should consist of both the waterscape and the mountain. Yunnan’s mountains are also famous, including the Yulong Mountain in Lijing, which was regarded as one of the key scenic spots at state level. The mountains and rivers in Yunnan are both very superb landscape.

Besides the landscape here, in my opinion there is another factor making you here, which is the climate in Yunnan. As we all know Kunming is called the Spring City that ‘s because it’s always warm as spring. The feature of Yunnan Climate is that it has little difference in the seasonal temperature but considerable difference of temperature in a day. In general, the weather is favorable throughout the year, cool in summer and warm in winter, which makes Yunnan a favorable resort all the year round.

Just because Yunnan is a province with high mountains and deep valleys, and the climate ranging from the Frigid Zone to the temperate zone and the Torrid Zone, It has a very special geographical and climate condition beneficial to many different kinds of plants. Therefore it boasts the largest of plants in China, accounting over 60% of China’s total. It is rightfully called “ the Kingdom of Plants”.

And it enjoys the fame of “the Kingdom of Animals”, “the Kingdom of Wildlife”. Many ancient animals have survived here, such as Ailurus fulgens styani and antelope. Meanwhile, there are lots of animals under national protection, such as wild elephants, wild bulls, gibbons and so on.

Oh, I nearly forget Yunnan is the “Kingdom of Nonferrous Metals” as well. The reserves of Lead, Zinc and tin rank first in China, while copper and nickel rank third.

Every friend who came to Yunnan always asked where they can visit, what they can taste, and what they can bring home to their families. And I will show you where we can enjoy the sight, what you will feel delicious after tasting, and what is suitable to take home as presents.

The famous beverage and food of Yunnan, in my opinion, you can never miss the Pu’er tea, Xuanwei Ham, Across-Bridge Rice Noodle, Steam-pot Chicken, Yiliang Roast Duck and Songrong Mushroom and Collybia Mushroom. They all taste good. I should limit my descriptions of them now, or maybe you will feel hungry.

And I suggest you buy some Yunnan Tobacco for your friends who are smokers. If for your friends, I recommend the Tie-Dyed Cloth, Marbles of Dali, Yunzi, which refers to chess pieces, and Jianshui Violet Pottery. They are all famous handicrafts.

OK, everyone. I wish you a good journey in Yunnan, and I am sure we will have a good time together.
